The right limit switch improves the safety and usability of lifting equipment

When cranes, hoists, winches or other moving industrial equipment are used daily in demanding conditions, every component must work reliably. The limit switch is one of the most important safety and control components of the system – its task is to stop the movement at the right point, slow down the movement before the end position or give the control system accurate information about the position of the device.

Tuotetekno supplies high-quality TER limit switches for various lifting and automation applications. The range includes solutions for monitoring a rotating shaft, mechanical position detection and controlling the travel movements of overhead cranes.

TER Base – rotary limit switch for limit data from a shaft

TER Base is designed for applications where the limit data comes from a rotating shaft, such as a winch drum or a hoist drive shaft. The limit switch rotates with the movement of the device and activates the set end limit precisely at the desired point.

The rotary limit switch is particularly suitable for chain hoists, wire rope hoists and lifting and pulling winches, where precise stopping of the movement is important for safety and the service life of the equipment.

When the limit data is taken directly from the rotating shaft, precise and repeatable operation is achieved even in continuous industrial use.

TER Ino – versatile lever limit switch for mechanical position detection

TER Ino lever limit switches and switches are suitable for applications where a moving stop pushes the lever into the desired position and activates the switch.

INO series limit switches are designed for controlling the movement of cranes, hoists and industrial machines, and as many as 39 different actuator options are available for different applications.

Typical applications include:

  • lifting aids
  • position detection of gates and machines
  • automation systems
  • safety limit circuits
  • end limits for moving machine parts

A lever limit switch is a simple but very reliable solution when a mechanical stop is available.

TER XFR – cross limit switch for overhead crane travel movements

TER XFR limit switches are commonly used cross (“helicopter”) limit switches, used especially for controlling the travel movements of overhead cranes, hoists and industrial machines.

The XFR series is designed for motion control, as slow-down limits and as end limits. Various rod and lever options are available depending on the application. The switches feature, among other things, positive-opening NC contacts for safety functions, a mechanical service life of up to one million operations and IP65 protection for demanding industrial conditions.

Cross limit switches are a common choice for example for:

  • overhead cranes
  • trolleys
  • horizontal movements of hoists
  • automated material handling systems

The right limit switch for the application

The choice of limit switch depends on where the movement is measured and what kind of control method the application requires. A rotating shaft, a mechanical stop or the travel movement of a moving crane all require a slightly different solution.

Tuotetekno helps you choose the right TER limit switch for your hoist, winch or automation application. Explore the full TER range or contact our experts – we will help you find a safe and long-lasting solution for demanding industrial applications.
