Description
Reel turning device
Turns cored reels from vertical to horizontal | Clamped with a GN 563 handle | Hangs from the hoist hook
Applications
With the reel turning device, a reel is picked up vertically from the pallet and turned horizontal for loading into the machine. The device hangs from the hoist hook; the mandrel is lowered into the reel core and clamped, after which the reel is lifted and turned in a controlled way.
How it works
- The mandrel is lowered into the reel core with the hoist.
- Turning the GN 563 handle presses the gripping plates of the expanding mandrel against the inside of the core.
- The reel is lifted off the pallet.
- The reel is turned 180° around the angled joint, so the mandrel is horizontal and the reel can be lowered into the machine.
